Here’s some helpful information on non-emergency ambulance services that I wanted to share after hearing of someone getting stuck with a bill bill.

If it’s a non-emergency case, get pre-authorization, name(s) who telling you this, ideally in writing, and your share of cost before doing it. If on a Medicare plan, Medicare.gov says, ” In some cases, Medicare may pay for limited, medically necessary, nonemergency ambulance transportation if you have a written order from your doctor stating that ambulance transportation is medically necessary.”

If you live in Newport Beach, For a base fee of $60 per year, you will be covered for unlimited paramedic services and emergency ambulance transportation with no out-of-pocket expenses. Membership covers you, members of your household, your guests, and for eligible businesses, the employees and customers at the subscribing address. Website is HERE.
